If you haven't seen my Makeup Geek original eyeshadow review before, you're missing out on something! (here is a LINK to my review) Makeup Geek original eyeshadows are $5.99 a pan, with amazing quality and pigmentation just like MAC, or some shades even better, it's such a steal! After getting 27 of them and being extremely obsessed, I of course placed an order for their new Foil Eyeshadows too in some neutral shades.
|Makeup Geek Foil Eyeshadow (Left to Right):|
In The Spotlight, Magic Act, Grandstand, Mesmerised, Showtime
These shadows look incredible just in the pan, but I was still more than impressed when I first swatched them on my arm. Every colour literally 'WOW'ed me even I've seen a lot of other pigmented shadows before! Have a look of the arm swatches down below, you can see why I was blown away by the finish of the swatches!
In the Spotlight is a soft pink with coral undertone and a foiled finish. One of this safe colour you can wear on mid lid everyday and looks so amazing. Let's take a moment to appreciate how foiled this colour is!
Magic Act is a light gold with yellow undertone and a foiled finish. I'm not a huge fan of really warm toned gold but this pale gold foil colour is right up my alley. I've used this colour around tear duct and in mid lid so much.
Grandstand is a medium rose gold with slight taupe undertone and a foiled finish. A medium rose that is so romantic if you're looking for a warm toned smokey eye that isn't too dark.
Mesmerised is a deep medium taupe with strong purple undertone and a foiled finish. I've been using this colour around outer V and lower lash line non stop lately, love how cool toned this colour is and so workable with other shadow colours.
Showtime is a rusty brown with warm undertone and a foiled finish. This slightly purple/burgundy brown is a perfect colour for outer V to darken the look without looking muddy. It's such a romantic colour and perfect.
Makeup Geek did it again!! After they blew me away with regular eyeshadow formula and prices, these foil shadow are whole another level and are straight from heaven or got left behind by some unicorns! There is absolutely nothing bad I have to say about these shadows and can't stop raving about how freaking pigmented and smooth they are. (you guys probably can tell my excitement by these swatches)
The hype is real, and I'm so excited they released some new shades in the foil range recently. I may or may not just have to place another order from them soon!
Have you guys tried any of Makeup Geek's foil eyeshadows, or just their regular formula shadows? And what's your thoughts on them? Share it with everyone here! xx
