NEW IN: Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Collection

The Ready Set Gorgeous collection from Covergirl is probably already familiar for some of you from US, but I was so stocked when I first got told that this collection was going to be available in New Zealand on 20th April!

Funny enough that I actually ordered two shades of this foundation (220 and 305) myself from US on drugstore.com, before I actually heard about the Ready Set Gorgeous Collection launching in New Zealand from PR. So I now ended up with two of the 220 shade in this foundation, which I'm super stocked at the end and I'll tell you why.

Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation in 220 Soft Honey*:
The reason that I was so genuinely interested in this foundation before it even launched in New Zealand is that I heard this is a 'watered down version' of Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation, which was my old favourite for full coverage foundation. You would of seen it if you followed my YouTube since the very beginning.
After testing it out for a few weeks, I'm safe to say this is such an amazing 'everyday' version of the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation! It has the amazing lasting power on my combo/oily skin just like its sister, but medium coverage is definitely something I'd rather put on my face instead of full coverage for day to day wear. (I've heard people got breakouts from this foundation, which means you're not cleansing your face well, as this is a very long lasting foundation that a lot of basic makeup removing steps wouldn't get it all out. Make sure you deep cleansing your skin with cleansing oil or some sorta cleansing brush to remove all your makeup completely if you're looking into the makeup that claims to be long lasting!)
Another bonus is that I could actually match my skin tone perfectly from this foundation range. If you have slightly more yellow-toned skin you probably have struggled from finding the perfect undertone foundation from drugstore range usually. But 220 Soft Honey matches my current skin tone so well (I match with 305 for summer), and it doesn't look too pink on me at all, super impressed with the colour selection!

Here is video review on foundation for some demonstration and seeing how it looks after 9+ hours on my face WITHOUT touch-ups:

Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Concealer in Light*:
Unluckily the concealer didn't tick as many boxes for me as the foundation from the range. It could be the concealer I received that was way too light for my squinting, but overall I just wasn't that impressed. The coverage of this concealer is quite sheer. And being a light tone, it doesn't actually brighten my under-eye area much but instead the undertone of this concealer made my skin look really dull and grey, which isn't great in any concealer. Personally, I'd rather some other drugstore concealers such as Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, or Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer.

Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Powder Foundation in Medium*:
Seriously, I really wish they would have more colour for the powder foundations like the liquid one from this collection. The powder has a sheer coverage but slightly guidable. It has a really smooth texture which I would love to wear on the days I want to have minimum makeup but just something to even out my skin tone. Although this powder in Medium is way too pink/cool for my skin tone (shown in the swatch below) and therefore I could not wear this on my skin unfortunately.
