Topshop NZ Mini Haul

One of the biggest thing in the fashion world in New Zealand lately was the opening of Topshop & Topman store in Auckland. Lucky enough I was already travelling to Auckland to see Miranda Sing's show there, it was the perfect time (not long after opening, but din't have to fight with tons of people just to check things out) to make a wee visit to the first Topshop in New Zealand.

I always thought the flagship store was going to be massive (a few storeys with massive areas on each floor) when I walked past it before opening the last last time when I was in Auckland before Christmas. And seeing all the posts on Instagram talking about how exciting the opening is going to be. Naturally I had such a high expectation on the size of the store and amount of clothing and beauty items they would of had there. I was so wrong!

I went to the store with Joe together. Just like lot of guys, he's not very patient when comes to shopping. I didn't get to spend a lot of time in the store but I was not impressed by the limited floor area they have on both ground and first floor, not at all. Beauty products only took one mini stand on both sides, only a tiny little corner for shoe collection; just these two sections kinda explained the size and scale of the whole store. I was in a hurry and the disappointment also made me not really in a shopping mood.

I picked up two nail polish from Topshop as I forgot to pack any nail polish to bring up there with me for the weekend. I grabbed Snow Cone and Sweet Nothings from the tiny little nail polish selection purely cause the price wasn't too bad. The display looks messy, there was no swatches and lots of bottles were already opened by the customers (but man that was a bit of disappointment after seeing the amazing nail polish selections from the UK and US store photos). Snow cone is a mermaid shimmer that I've always wanted to add into my collection. You need about 3 coats to get the full coverage of the polish, and it's a bit hard to remove it at the end too. It's still super worth it as I got so many compliments from wearing this polish the week after. Sweet Nothings is a baby blue which I had similar colour form my nail polish collection but I just wanted to test out the pigmentation of pastels from Topshop. I was happy that two coats of this polish you could get a really decent coverage. I also saw a cute kitty undies at the corner of my eyes, and grabbed it straight away! (crazy cat ladies would totally understand) It is so comfy too, super in love!

I might give the store another visit next time when I'm up in Auckland without my Mr. But as far as the first brief visit, I wasn't that impressed or blown away by it. I was calm enough and only picked up a few goodies on the day, which was a smart move as I actually really like all these three items. Compared to other shopping I usually do going a bit crazy, then don't have enough love for all the things I buy afterwards.

Have you guys been to the new Topshop store if you live in Auckland? What's your thoughts on it?

  5. Haha don't worry it's just typo ;) Gosh I don't know how to explain how much I love those Berry M polishes, they're like gel nails that could be removed by nail polish remover!! They last about 3 freaking weeks on my nails and are so much more pigmented than gel nails! I found them on ASOS but they don't ship it to NZ cause nail polish are dangerous goods... I NEED THEM!!! Let me know if you could find out anywhere else to get them!!!!!!! xx

  9. Yeah I gotta agree with the selection. I didn't find many things that I liked when I visited and thought that the selection would be bigger from what I read.. definitely quite disappointed there too..
