Collection Cosmetics has been a big hit in the New Zealand beauty market ever since it came all the way from UK to NZ, along with super affordable price that didn't get lost on the way flying to the long white cloud! As most of makeup brands (even the drugstore ones) are not actually that cheap in NZ compared to other countries, Collection has been the 'new e.l.f' (price wise) for us kiwi girls. Plus most of makeup brands normally go into the Australian market first before New Zealand but the game changed this time for Collection, how lucky are we!
Recently Collection NZ launched a few new products direct from UK: Work The Colour Nail Polish*, Illuminating Touch Brightening Concealer* and Big Fake Curves Mascara*.
There are 5 new shades available in the Work The Colour Nail Polish collection, retailed for $6.39 NZD each, what a bargain! Shades in the picture above from left to right are: Lilac Daze, Baby Blue, Babydoll Pink, Fool's Gold, Deep Blue Sea. A girl could never have too many pastel nail polishes, or I would never have too many as they're always the statement colours in my nail polish stash. Fool's Gold and Deep Blue Sea are also perfect shades for autumn and the upcoming winter season in Southern Hemisphere.
Collection concealers are something I loved before the brand even came to New Zealand. One of my good friend Sophie got one of their Lasting Perfection Concealer when she went to UK a while ago and I fell in love with that stuff! I'm also a big fan of the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in shade Nude, therefore I had pretty high expectation for this Collection Illuminating Touch Brightening Concealer, which is retailed for $16.39 NZD. Maybe the expectation is a bit too high to start with, I found this highlighting concealer is a bit too thick to my liking, unlike the Maybelline one or some other high end brand's highlighting pens. It is still easy to blend out the product, but personally I'm not a big fan of this stuff and still rather stick to their Lasting Perfection Concealer instead.
The other new thing in the launch is Collection Big Fake Curves Mascara, retailed for $18.50 NZD. I love how Collection has all these rubber wands, which I found applies mascara amazingly compared to the traditional mascara wands. The big round head on this mascara reminds me of Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes Mascara (which I've tried as a sample from Sephora once), they work very similar in my opinion! Even though the Collection Big Fake Curves has a curve with thicker bristles at both ends and thinner around the middle, I found myself ended up only using the tip of the wand to really work around my lashes for detailed application. The last photo also shows a comparison of Collection's new Big Fake Curves Mascara side by side with their Does It All Mascara.
