Most of you guys would be quite familiar with Cetaphil as it's one of the most popular cleansers in the drugstore range all around world. I remember about a year or two ago when I was getting hair done and reading those rubbish magazine in the salon, I saw a survey on women voting for which cleanser is their favourite, and apparently most of them prefer the Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser over the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser.
I went and bought the Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser soon after reading that article, and fell in love with the Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser so much! If you're subscribed to my YouTube channel you probably have seen me raving about the Neutrogena cleanser in one of my monthly favourites video last year already. The Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser is a soap free gentle cleanser that claims to remove makeup really well and leave your face feel fresh and clean afterwards. And it REALLY DOES!! It cleans my face so well and leave it super clean, without making my skin feel tight or dry at all afterwards.
The well loved Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser got finished at the end of last year, and when I was about to get another one at the supermarket doing grocery shopping, I saw that the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser was on sale for a really good price. I though might as well give it a go, I should never make a judgement without trying both right? So then I can really decide which one is better.
The Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is also soap free and claims to be very gentle on the skin. I love how both bottles have pump which is super easy to use in the shower. The Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser removes makeup really well too, and rinses off even quicker than the Neutrogena one, but every time after I use the Cetaphil cleanser, I feel my face feeling a bit tight which is the feeling I absolutely hate after using cleanser. Who wants to over-cleanse your skin right? Since I've already purchased a big bottle, I sticked with it as I felt bad wasting the rest of the bottle otherwise. But honestly I wasn't really enjoy it much at all. I've got combination skin and gets super oily in summer; if it makes my skin feel tight after using it, I don't know how it didn't dry out other drier skin type, and still became the most popular cleanser in the market? I don't get it!
Recently I got sent a new bottle of Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser* as PR sample, and finally I could say goodbye to my Cetaphil cleanser and give it to someone else without feeling too guilty not finishing it. Below is my old bottle which I saved for my next 'Empties' review post, and the new bottle on the right.
After trying both cleansers, I'm safe to say that the Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser works so much better on my skin than the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. The price tag of the Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser is super budget friendly, so I always have this in my shower to be used in the morning, while having another high end more luxury cleanser by the sink for my night time skin care routine to go with my other skin care products.
Have you guys tried either of these two cleansers? If so what do you think about them? I really do want to know anyone who's tried the Cetaphil cleanser and didn't feel dry on their skin afterwards??!!
Have a lovely day! xx
