Yves Saint Laurent lipsticks are always the dream of every woman. I've always been eyeing on them so badly but the price has been holding me up. I recently got gifted a YSL Rouge Volupte Shine lipstick in shade 5 Fuchsia In Excess, and now I officially lost my YSL lipstick virginity.
From the outer box to the actual packaging of the lipstick. All I could say is that it is that the golden colour is just beautiful, just like their Volume Effet Faux Cils Babydoll Mascara that I've owned for a while. The heaviness of the packaging, and the sturdiness, you could feel how much effort was putting into the packaging while this lipstick is made. It might be weird to some others, but us makeup lovers would totally understand this sorta happiness even just looking at a beautiful lipstick packaging like this.
Now for the actual lipstick part. The colour looks like a deep fuchsia in the tube, although being a 'shine' lipstick, the swatch comes out as a quite sheer colour which I already expected. It also swatches more like a fuchsia-berry colour, instead of bright fuchsia, which is really wearable for me as everyday bright colour. It would also be a great introduction colour to the ones are afraid to wear bright fuchsia lipsticks. The lipstick glides on so smoothly to the lips, and leaves a beautiful sheen. The colour is definitely a lot bolder than a tinted lip balm, but with the same amount of moisture of a lip balm or more even. It leaves your lips feel so soft, and you could smell a subtle pleasant fragrance at the same time.
The longevity of this 'sheer' lipstick also surprised me. For being a glossy and sheer lipstick, I kinda expected the colour to be worn off a lot quicker than it actually did. Although even if you wipe your lips completely with a tissue, you could still see a strong tint on your lips, and it explains why that the colour still holds onto your lips well during the day.
Overall I'm extremely happy and excited to keep using my first ever Yves Saint Laurent lipstick. And no matter how many times I take it our of my lipstick drawer to look at it, I still can't get enough of how gorgeous the packaging is! I sure will soon purchase another lipstick from Yves Saint Laurent for my birthday, or whatever the other excuses I could found to make myself get over the price haha.
Have any of you tried or own any Yves Saint Laurent lipsticks? If so what shade is your favourite and would you recommend me to get next time? Have a lovely weed lovelies, stay fabulous! xx
