February Favourites 2015

It's  the time at the end of each month to do another monthly favourites. This is kind of a January/February Favourites as I didn't do one last month due to my schedule which I explained in my recent vlog video. The photos above are the 8 products are my top picks of my most reached and loved products in the last two months (sorry I forgot to put the self tanner in the bunch when I was taking photo but I included it in the video).

As always starting with lip products. This month I've got three to share with you guys, they are all more on the neutral side. Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is the lip colour I'm wearing in the video down below. I was super impressed by the pigmentation and the texture of this lipstick deluxe sample I got from Sephora that I don't even wear a lip liner underneath it (I normally always do). It is a gorgeous dusty rose colour that isn't too dark or too light, perfect for my skin tone and is a pink that I could feel comfortable to wear everyday for any makeup look. Another lip combo I've been wearing almost everyday lately are the Colour Pop Cosmetics Lip Pencil in Brink and Colour Pop Cosmetics Lip Stix in Brink. The lip pencil is about half shade darker than its paired lipstick which is the ideal combo. I'd say this combo is the perfect everyday Kylie Jenner lip color for my skin tone. Also both lip pencils and lipsticks from Colour Pop Cosmetics are just super pigmented and so easy to apply. I've already purchased 10 shades and looking forward to add more colour into my collection.

For face products I also have three here. I've been using Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free in Tawny almost non stop lately for a natural everyday look. It is an oil free tinted moisturizer which is perfect for combination/oily skin girls like me. The coverage of this stuff is super outstanding for an tinted moisturizer, while it feels extremely weightless on your skin and it just feels like a regular moisture. Although I still powder my T zone area later on of the day as it is summer in New Zealand at the moment, and my skin is the oiliest stage of the year. I finally picked up Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette and I have to say this stuff is amazing. The texture of powder and the shimmer in this  highlighter is super fine, and it looks really natural on your skin. And not to mention how amazing is Hourglass' packaging, I can't even! I also had a holy grail blush which is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush, ever since I picked up the Tarte Pin-up Girl Blush Palette. It is an limited edition palette therefore it's already sold out ages ago everywhere except you still can pick it up on eBay. I was always so concerned about this blush as Essie Button and Claire Marshall always mention it in their videos. After first trying it out, I was like "where have I been all these years"! I really wished I discovered these blushes earlier as they are so gorgeous, pigmented and yet easy to apply.

One piece of eye product for this month is the Maybelline Big Eye Light Catching Palette in Luminous Brown. I'm normally not a big fan of drugstore quads but the colour combination of the shadows in the palette is just super outstanding for me. Even though it doesn't have any matte shades to use in crease, I still feel like the shimmery beige, pink shimmer and the satin brown in the quad are so wearable for lots of occasions, and just look so girly and pretty!

The last product I picked is kinda a body product, it's the St Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse. I've been using St Morez for a while which has been claimed as a drugstore dupe for the St Tropez tanning mousse. This is the first St Tropez product I bought which I thought was quite expensive, but I really enjoyed it and almost finished the bottle already. It definitely doesn't fade patchy at all after about a week compared to other self tanner I've used before. I paid a lot for the product and I think it's totally worth the money for the beautiful colour you get, and the long lasting bronze you get from this self tanner. Although I might not repurchase this self tanner after I finish it. I'm currently thinking of trying out either Loving Tan or Bondi Sand as both of these two self tanner are super popular at the moment, and it must be hot for a reason.

So these are the 8 products I picked for this February Favourites. Let me know if you guys have found this helpful. Or if you have tried any of these products, let me know what you think too! And if you couldn't be bother reading all the stuff above, I also have a video below for you to watch when you have a cup of tea or coffee. Stay fabulous all of you! <3

  1. I've heard so much about the Tarte blushes...I'm still debating whether I want to spend that much on a blush or stick with my Milani blushes!

    1. I love Milani too! But there's something about the formulation of these Tarte blushes, they're easier to apply and the pigmentation is just so on point! I would say maybe next time when they release another blush palette, you should definitely give it a go! ;)

  2. I love that Maybelline quad too! Some of the best eyeshadows you can get in the drugstore, I think. I would recommend trying out Bondi Sands for tanning because it gives a really natural looking tan to the skin.

I was so close to getting it but passed on it, my blush collection is large enough for now! Great collection! Our 'big eyes' shadow palettes look very different in singapore! Will be doing a review of one soon!
