LUSH Lip Scrub: Is It Worth the Hype?

The lip scrub from Lush, I think all of us here are quite familiar with them. Although somehow I never remembered to get some when I'm at the mall, until today...

I feel like one of the last person checking these lip scrubs out. I went to the Lush store today, and tried out the first two flavours out of three: Popcorn, Bubblegum, Mint Julep. I was originally excited to try out "Bubblegum" since so many YouTubers always talk about how amazing it smells or test, although I found it being a bit overpowering and the taste is too good and artificial. On the other hand, the subtle natural flavour, and a bit of salty punch in "Popcorn" is something I enjoy a lot more. I normally love minty scent lip balms but I think I'd rather have something purely sweet for a lip scrub.

The staff at Lush told me that these are absolutely safe to eat! You basically just put them on you lips, rub your lips with finger, and just lick all of them off. Easy and tasty, such an enjoyable way of getting dead skin of your lips. After got home, I checked the Ingredients list again, everything is natural and simple: Castor Sugar, Jojoba Oil, Sea Salt, Polenta, Coconut Oil, Popping Candy, Flavour

I don't want to admit but I actually used it three times already after I got home... It just smells and taste so good, and makes your lips feel so soft afterwards. I used to use the e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator (which was a lipstick form) but I think this Lush one does a way better job.

Have you tried any of these three lip scrubs from Lush? Or do you have any other holly grail lip scrub/exfoliator? Let me know in the comments down below! xx

  1. Yay, I'm glad you like them :) I haven't tried any yet but I've really been wanting to, and now that I know they're safe to lick off I'm even more excited to own one ;D Think I'll pick myself up a scrub when I do my Christmas shopping this year.

  2. I usually just brush my lips with my tooth brush while I'm brushing my teeth. Sometimes I dry brush it randomly and apply chapstick before bed for a similar effect.

    1. I found using toothbrush is a bit rough or could dry my lips a bit. Since these lip scrubs have some natural oil in there, they moisturise your lips a bit while scrubbing them. And they're actually quite affordable and you don't need much every time anyway :)
