Doesn't Work For Me: Boscia Black Mask Experience & Review

I got this Boscia Black Mask deluxe sample from Sephora about two months ago. I was really excited to try this because the description sounds amazing, and this is such a nice size for a free sample. But after I tried this mask for the first time, I was almost in tears...

The first squeeze from this mask, I was really curious cause the product looks really similar to a Shiseido Black Mask I've used from Asia market. The Japanese ones was suppose to only used on nose area, and the black heads suppose to come off when you peel the mask off.
This Black Mask from Boscia seems exactly the same to me from the first sight, I was really worried if I was suppose to put this stuff all over my face or not. After following the instructions, I decided to give it a go like the way it supposed to.

After covering my whole face and allow the mask to dry properly, I then started to peel off the mask. The peeling process was so much pain I don't even know how I can describe how disappointed I was when I was peeling the mask. It took me so long due to how hard it was to peel the mask off and how painful it was. Most of the areas on my skin got really pink after the peeling and felt really uncomfortable. The following week after this facial mask my skin went extremely sensitive and got super dry cause it's winter in New Zealand and other Southern Hemisphere countries.

I really don't understand why this black mask was instructed to do so, and how this didn't make such a pain for everyone else (There're a lot of great reviews on Sephora even). My skin is normally the least sensitive out of everyone I've known and met, and I've never had such a big reaction to a skin product like this.

I sure will not finish the whole sample because this mask DID NOT work for me at all.

Have you tried this Boscia Black Mask? Or have you tried any peel off type black mask? Did you enjoy it or hated it like me? I would like to know you guys' thoughts on this stuff! And if anyone has any tips and tricks to work this around I would like to know!

Thanks for reading, have a lovely week everyone. xx

  1. I think you should probably stick to your blackhead-prone areas (like with the Asian market black masks). That way, you can still use up the product without the bad skin reaction.

    1. I was thinking that, but this product didn't take much blackheads out on my nose when I tried. So I might just throw it out since I wouldn't get any use out of it for any purpose :(

  2. I hate it when you spend money on products to then have skin irritations or allergic reactions!
I am glad you reviewed this product so honestly I have been looking at black masks and I have extremely sensitive skin!

    1. At least it's just a deluxe sample from Sephora I didn't actually spend money on this, otherwise I would be even more disappointed since this isn't that cheap... If you have sensitive skin then I would say definitely stay away from this kinda stuff!

  6. oh my how odd that it is suppose to be used all over the face! Using a peel of mask all over the face is usually bad news!
I have used several but have never been impressed with what they do. But I only use them on the t zone (besides my forehead)

    1. I've tried some gentle peel off masks and thought they were fun to peel off I thought haha, but this one sticks a bit too well. This was just a deluxe sample, I don't think I would purchase peel off mask myself cause I don't think I would get any benefits from them really, for my skin type at least

    1. Yes this is a really good habit for testing any new products! My skin is normally opposite to sensitive so I pretty much never had done tests, and this happened :( I'll definitely test on my wrist next time for something I'm not sure about
