Having Breakouts?! Clean Your Makeup Brushes TODAY!!

Guess what? For some reason which I don't know, I got 5 breakouts in the last a few days. Back the day when I was teenager I used to have some serious acnes, but the problem was gone as I grew older. I'm not sure if it's stress from work and study, or some of the unhealthy food I had over the weekend, I'm having 5 pretty bad breakouts at the moment...

Since it's a rainy day here in Dunedin and I'm not going anywhere, I decided to give all the brushes on my vanity a hard out clean out!

I do wash my brushes once a week normally (only the ones have been used) but today I'm talking about some serious cleaning! I sanitised (with rubbing alcohol) and washed EVERY SINGLE brush that sits in my brush holder on my vanity, even the ones that were clean or got washed recently. Clean brushes in brush holder still do get lots of bacterials from air/dusts, or from touching other dirty brushes from the brush holder.

I had a quick counting after washing all of them. 70 makeup brushes and a Beauty Blender! Lucky it didn't take me too long thanks to my $4 silicone oven mitt and Brush Tree from Benjabelle!!

If you found yourself having problems about washing brushes or just want to find out my tips and tricks of washing brushes, I'll leave my YouTube video here for you guys to watch and learn.

    1. that's what exactly used to happen to me! I used to hate washing brushes just cause the skin on my hand always ended up getting really sore!
Until one day I found out you can just buy normal silicone oven mitt from ebay for like $4 or $5 bucks and they're pretty much exact dupe as the Sigma Brush Glove haha

    1. yea everyone should get into habit of washing dirty brushes at least once a week, and wash plus sanitising all the brushes once a month. Clean brushes are so much better for applying makeup even! (especially foundation, concealer and eyeliner brushes)

  3. I always wash my brushes at least weekly with the Dr. Bronner's soap in Tea Tree. Not only are they nice and clean, they also apply makeup much better. I actually really enjoy washing makeup brushes now. xx
