Urban Decay Vice 2 Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Urban Decay Vice 2 Eyeshadow Palette
Recently so many high-end brands have been releasing their new holiday eyeshadow palette, but Urban Decay Vice 2 is the only one made me feel like I HAVE TO GET IT the moment I saw it!! ;)
So today I'm doing a review and showing some swatches on this palette for you guys...

Urban Decay Vice 2 Eyeshadow Palette
The packaging is so gorgeous! The glossy finish hard case with the unique purple pattern (apparently each palette is different) and the jewelry looking UD logo definitely deliver that "high end" feeling to us. There're 20 BRAND NEW eyeshadow shades (so for those who already own a few UD palettes, you would not get any repetitive shadows) and one 2-end brush came in the palette as you can see from the first photo.

Here is the close-up photo of all 20 eyeshadow colors:

Urban Decay Vice 2 Eyeshadow Palette
From the first look of pictures online I saw a lot of smokiness and a lot of colors, also with some neutral shades at the bottom (matte nude and matte brown, great for blending and highlighting)

I swatched everything on bare skin without any primer.

Here are the swatches for each row:

Row 1:

Urban Decay Vice 2 Eyeshadow Palette Swatches: Smokeout, Lovesick, Shellshock, Coax, X-Rated
Smokeout is a dark taupey-black satin
Lovesick is a black matte with iridescent micro-glitter
Shellshock is a bright metallic silver (SO PIGMENTED!!!)
Coax is a medium metallic pink with golden iridescent micro-sparkle
X-Rated is a baby pink satin

Row 2:
Urban Decay Vice 2 Eyeshadow Palette Swatches: Prank, Madness, Strike, Stash, Poison
Prank is a deep navy matte with turquoise floating pearl
Madness is a bright metallic blue shimmer with blue micro-glitter
Strike is a antique gold shimmer with silver micro-glitter
Stash is a deep olive green shimmer with iridescent micro-sparkle
Poison is a charcoal satin with iridescent micro-sparkle

Row 3:
Urban Decay Vice 2 Eyeshadow Palette Swatches: Radar, Damaged, Voodoo, Betrayal, Derailed
Radar is a metallic brown shimmer with iridescent micro-glitter
Damaged is a bright metallic emerald shimmer
Voodoo is a metallic purple shimmer with iridescent purple micro-glitter
Betrayal is a bright purple satin with blue shift (my favourite color in this palette, such an unique and gorgeous duo-toned purple)
Derailed is a medium metallic taupey-brown shimmer

Row 4:
Urban Decay Vice 2 Eyeshadow Palette Swatches: Dope, Toxic, Habit, Ambush, Rewind
Dope is a warm champagne satin (great for inner eyes highlight)
Toxic is a metallic copper-pink shimmer with tonal micro-glitter
Habit is a light nude matte
Ambush is a metallic brown satin
Rewind is a medium brown matte (the universal crease color)

Swatches for all 4 rows together:

- amazing quality eyeshadows, super pigmented and NO fallouts! (formula is unique, see conclusion)
- great palette for creating holiday look
- good color combination, can deifnitely create full look just with one palette
- have both "fun" colors and neutrals
- really has that "high end" and "limited edition" feeling for both product and packaging

- no cons for the actual product, but it is a bit pricey and is limited edition

The first thing I want to say is the formula of all the metallic shades in this palette is quite different to all the other good quality eyeshadows I've used (even other UD palettes). Most of shadows (apart from matte ones) almost have a liquid or cream texture instead of powder, it glides on to your eyelid with no effort and wouldn't move around once you apply. So staying power is A+ and no glitter/shimmer fallouts!!

And so many shades in this palettes are so unique that I don't have any similar shades from my entire eyeshadow collection, which is a great palette to purchase for those who are addicted to eyeshadows as well but don't want another repetitive neutral ones!

Overall, this is the palette that blew my mind the most in my whole eyeshadow collection! But I would say this is slightly more of an "advanced" user palette instead of beginner everyday look palette. (more of a collective palette than an everyday reach-for palette)

Price: $59.00

*Limited Edition

Where to buy: Sephora, Ulta, Beauty.com (only available in US, international buyers have to ask friend to get it for them or using parcel forwarding service)
