elf Essential Lipsticks Review & Swatches

e.l.f. Essential Lipstick: Nostalgic, Classy, Flirtatious, Charming, Captivating, Fantasy
So today I'm reviewing and swatching these six shades of Essential Lipsticks that I've got from e.l.f. every now and then over the years.
I think most of you guys are quite familiar with these, but probably not everyone has tried them since people might worry about if the quality is good or not since they're a bit "too cheap".
$1.00 ?! Yes! I don't think any other lipsticks can beat this price. So just follow me and let's see if they're worth to try or not...

e.l.f. Essential Lipsticks Swatches: Nostalgic, Classy, Flirtatious, Charming, Captivating, Fantasy
As you guys can see from these swatches, all these six shades could be quite pigmented if keep building it up. The pigmentation could be sheer if you only apply a light coat, but definitely really buildable.

Here are my lip swatches! And I'll share my thoughts about each shade:

e.l.f. Essential Lipstick Lip Swatches: Nostalgic, Classy, Flirtatious, Charming, Captivating, Fantasy
NostalgicA really pale pink toned nude color. Way too pale for me and the formula really outline all the dry skins on lips. My least favourite out of all six shades! I wouldn't recommend anyone to get this color.

ClassyMy favourite out of all these 4 shades and I've been owning this for the longest as well. In person looks slightly more baby pink than the picture. Just a really gorgeous pink that wearable for everyday.

FlirtatiousA slightly more neon / bright rosy color. Would be a really fun color to wear for spring and summer makeup look.

CharmingThe formula of last three shades are all super moisturizing! Looove! Charming is such a neutral mauve / dusty rosy color, definitely wearable for any look!

CaptivatingThe formula of last three shades are all super moisturizing! Looove! Captivating is a fun yellow toned orange shade. The color is really pigmented and buildable. This kinda orange color is more wearable than full on red, and still look as glamorous!

FantasyThe formula of last three shades are all super moisturizing! Looove! Fantasy is just your go to brown-ish nude color. I love when nude brown lipsticks have a hint of warm tone so they don't look too grey and makes you look dead. This is a great lipsticks for all the nude lipsticks lover or someone who's first time experiencing brown-ish nude due to the super affordable price.

Pros:
- $1.00, super affordable. You pretty much can't go wrong with the price!
- 12 shades to choose from, it has been new shades keep coming out. Good on you elf!
- Formula are really smooth and moisturizing apart from Nostalgic!
- Colors are buildable and can be really pigmented if apply thicker layer.

Cons:
- Cheap feeling packaging, but since it's a $1 product you can't really complain about this.
- Some popular shades are sold out fast on elf's official website! You have to keep an eye on it!
- Has a "grape" kinda scent, I personally really don't mind it at all (and kinda like it), but this might bother some others.

Conclution:
Overall I really enjoy all the five shades apart from Nostalgic. They're really smooth and moisturizing and easy to apply. And the price is just the lowest in the market, while it's still from a large brand you can trust. I definitely recommend everyone to give them a try, and I'm definitely going to get more shades at some stage when I shop from elf again.
